Day 1

Adelaide - Rawnsley Park

  • Depart Adelaide 0730hrs

  • Travel through the northern suburbs and the

  • Adelaide Plains to the Clare Valley.

  • Visit the Sevenhill Winery and Church, South Australia’s first winery.

  • Continue through the Southern Flinders Ranges to Hawker and Rawnsley Park.

  • Visit an Aboriginal rock art site.
    Overnight: Rawnsley Park

Day 2

Rawnsley Park - Wilpena Pound Area

  • Today w explore the central Flinders Ranges travelling through picturesque Parachilna, Brachina and  Bunyeroo Gorge.

  • Visit Wilpena Pound and take an easy walk to the inside of the Pound and visit the old Hill's Homestead.

  • View Australian Wildlife at peace with nature and catch a glimpse of the rare and endangered Yellow Footed Rock Wallaby.

  • View Pioneering Heritage of the area.

  • Overnight: Rawnsley Park.


Day 3

Rawnsley Park - Marree

  • Travel Moralana Drive to the Leigh Creek road.
  • Visit historic township of Beltana once a thriving railway town on the old Pt. Augusta to Alice Springs line and home to one of many repeater stations along the Overland Telegraph Line that linked Australia to England in the late 1800's.
  • Visit the Quandong Cafe, Talc Alf, the Ochre Pits and the ghost vtown of Farina.
  • Travel the famous Birdsville Track to Lake Harry to view the bird life and also learn about the failed Government experimental date plantation.
  • Have a browse around Marree to view the history of the old railway town, Tom Kruse the Birdsville mail man, an open air mosque and the Arabunna aboriginal museum.

  • Overnight: Marree

 


Day 4

Marree – Woomera

  • Take an early morning scenic flight over Lake Eyre and surrounds.
  • Travel the Oodnadatta Track.
  • View an outback sculpture park.


  • Visit Lake Eyre South.


  • Travel to Woomera via the Bore field road to

  • Olympic Dam and Roxby Downs

  • Visit the Woomera heritage centre.

  • Overnight: Woomera


Day 5

Woomera - Adelaide

  • Travel to Adelaide via Port Augusta and the coast road (Hwy 1)

  • Visit the Wadlata Outback Centre

  • View one of the longest  wooden jetties in the southern hemisphere

  • Arrive Adelaide Approx 1800hrs
