Day 1

 Adelaide - Rawnsley Park

  • Depart Adelaide 0730hrs

  • Travel through the northern suburbs and the

  • Adelaide Plains to the Clare Valley.

  • Visit the Sevenhill Winery and Church, South Australia’s first winery.

  • Continue through the Southern Flinders Ranges to Hawker and Rawnsley Park.

  • Visit the old Kanyaka ruins and an Aboriginal rock art site.

  • Overnight: Rawnsley Park or Hawker

Day 2

  Rawnsley Park - Wilpena Pound Area

  • Explore the central Flinders Ranges travelling through the picturesque Parachilna, Brachina and Bunyeroo Gorges.

  • Visit Wilpena Pound and take an easy walk into the the pound and view the old Hill's Homestead the remnants of the early pioneers attempts at farming the area.

  • View Australian Wildlife at peace with nature and catch a glimpse of the rare and endangered Yellow Footed Rock Wallaby.
  • Learn about the local Aboriginal culture, bush foods and medicine.

  • View Pioneering Heritage of the area.

  • Overnight: Rawnsley Park.


Day 3

 Rawnsley Park - Marree

  • take the scenic Moralana Drive to the Leigh Creek road.
  • Visit historic Beltana township once an thriving railway town on the old Pt. Augusta - Alice Spring Ghan  line and home to one of the many repeaters stations on the Overland Telegraph Line that connected Australia to London in the late 1800's.
  • Visit the Quandong Cafe, Talc Alf, the Ochre Pits and Farina.
  • Travel the Birdsville Track to Lake Harry to view the bird life on the Lake and hear about the failed Government sponsored experimental date plantation.
  • Return to Marree.
  • Have a browse around Marree to view the history of the old railway town, Tom Kruse the Birdsville mail man, an open air mosque and the Arabunna aboriginal museum.

  • Overnight: Marree or Bush camp

 


Day 4

Marree - Coober Pedy

  • Take a scenic flight over the Birdsville Track, Frome Creek, Muloorina HS, Lake Eyre North and South.
  • Travel the Oodnadatta Track.

  • Visit an outback sculpture park, Lake Eyre South, the Mound Springs, Coward Springs and William Creek.


  • Travel to Coober Pedy

  • View Australia’s longest fence.

  • Visit the Breakaways

  • Underground accommodation (Twin Share)

  • Overnight: Coober Pedy


Day 5

Coober Pedy - Woomera

  • Visit Underground Motel, Umoona Mine and other Coober Pedy Sites

  • Travel to Woomera

  • Visit the Woomera heritage centre.
  • Overnight: Woomera

Day 6

Woomera - Adelaide

  • Travel to Port Augusta and Adelaide

  • Visit the Wadlata Outback Centre

  • View one of the longest  wooden jetties in the southern hemisphere

  • Arrive Adelaide Approx 1800hrs
